Summary:
- Litecoin Foundation and AmericanFortress announce a privacy-focused wallet.
- The wallet allows users to conceal balances and transactions.
- It incorporates MWEB technology, privacy aliases, and Ordinals.
Privacy remains a top priority for crypto users. On Monday, September 8, the Litecoin Foundation and AmericanFortress revealed plans for a beta release of a Litecoin-native (LIT) wallet designed with privacy at its core. The upcoming AmericanFortress of this Wallet will let users stake assets and utilize layer-2 solutions while keeping privacy as the default setting.
Slated for a September debut, the wallet will leverage Litecoin’s layer-2 MimbleWimble Extension Blocks (MWEB) to provide transaction privacy. Additionally, it employs C-filters to prevent IP-to-wallet deanonymization when connecting to public servers, ensuring enhanced security for all users.

New Litecoin Wallet Built for Privacy
According to Mehow Pospieszalski, CEO of AmericanFortress, privacy is built into the wallet from the ground up, not just added on as an extra. He also highlighted the goal of making the wallet simple and user-friendly, catering to newcomers in the Litecoin ecosystem.
Although the Litecoin network is not DeFi-focused by design and its total value locked in DeFi is relatively small at $2.66 million, it remains popular among users and traders who prioritize decentralization and privacy.
